Turmeric is a yellow color powder-like substance with a pungent taste. It is extensively used in preparations of food, especially the Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine. The strong color of the compound adds color to the food adding up to its flavor.

As said earlier, It has seen existence in the Indian culture for ages. It is one of the items used in home made curative remedies.
